Shipping & Delivery Policy

At Decor Furniture & Mattress, we want customers to understand how their order will be delivered, what service is included and when additional charges may apply. This policy applies to orders delivered within Ontario.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer-protection laws.

Complete conditions appear below.

1. Ontario Delivery Area

Decor Furniture & Mattress currently accepts delivery orders only for serviceable addresses within Ontario.

We do not currently offer regular delivery outside Ontario. An order placed with an unsupported delivery address may be cancelled and refunded.

Some remote or limited-service postal codes may not be serviceable through our regular carriers. If we cannot service an address, or an additional charge is required that was not displayed at checkout, we will contact the customer before proceeding.

We will never add an undisclosed delivery charge without the customer’s approval.

2. Delivery Rates by Area

Delivery charges are based on the delivery address and the merchandise subtotal after discounts and before taxes.

Hamilton area — free on orders of $899 or more; $49 on orders under $899:

  • Hamilton (including Waterdown, Ancaster, Dundas and Stoney Creek), Caledonia, Brantford and Guelph.

GTA and nearby cities — free on orders of $899 or more; $79 on orders under $899:

  • Waterloo Region: Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge;
  • Niagara: St. Catharines, Thorold, Niagara Falls, Welland and Grimsby;
  • Halton: Burlington, Oakville and Milton;
  • Peel: Mississauga and Brampton;
  • Toronto: all of Toronto;
  • York Region: Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill; and
  • Durham Region: Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa.

Rest of Ontario — $99 on orders of $899 or more; $150 on orders under $899.

Eligibility is determined by the delivery address and postal code entered at checkout. Rural areas and communities outside the listed cities are charged the Rest of Ontario rate. Delivery is completed by independent carriers, as described in Sections 7 and 8.

Postal code areas do not always match municipal boundaries, so some addresses within or near a listed city may not qualify for that city’s rate. The delivery charge shown at checkout for your address is the charge that applies. If you believe your address should qualify, please contact us before placing your order.

Delivery at any rate, including free delivery, does not automatically include:

  • Assembly or installation;
  • Room-of-choice service;
  • Removal of existing furniture or mattresses;
  • Moving furniture already inside the home;
  • Hoisting or balcony delivery;
  • Disposal of packaging; or
  • Other special handling.

Any additional service must be purchased or agreed to separately.

3. Delivery Charges

The delivery charge for each order is set out in Section 2 and displayed at checkout.

Northern Ontario (postal codes beginning with P): because carrier costs vary widely, we will confirm the delivery cost for your address after the order is placed. If it is higher than the charge paid at checkout, we will contact you with a quote before shipping, and you may cancel for a full refund if you do not accept it.

Remote locations, limited-service postal codes, unusually oversized products or locations requiring exceptional handling may be unavailable or may require an additional charge. Any charge will be disclosed before the order proceeds.

If the customer does not approve a newly disclosed delivery charge, the customer may cancel the affected standard order for a full refund, provided that custom or special-order processing has not already begun.

If items are later cancelled or returned so that the remaining merchandise subtotal falls below $899, the difference between the delivery charge paid and the charge that would have applied to the remaining order under Section 2 may be deducted from the refund. This does not apply to items returned because they arrived damaged, defective or incorrect.

4. Delivery Charge at Checkout and In-Store Pickup

The applicable delivery charge is displayed at checkout whenever possible. If a charge cannot be calculated automatically, we will contact the customer with the delivery cost before processing the order for shipment.

Customers may choose free pickup at checkout. Pickup orders are collected from our showroom at 1600 Stone Church Road East, Hamilton, Ontario. We will notify you when your order is ready; please bring your order confirmation and photo ID. Customers are responsible for bringing a suitable vehicle and help to load large items.

5. Estimated Delivery Times

Most in-stock and regularly available furniture and mattresses are normally delivered in approximately 2–3 weeks after purchase.

This is an estimate—not a guaranteed delivery date—unless a specific date has been expressly confirmed in writing.

Delivery timing may be affected by:

  • Supplier availability;
  • Backorders;
  • Production schedules;
  • Carrier capacity;
  • Weather or road conditions;
  • Regional delivery schedules;
  • Labour or transportation disruptions; and
  • Circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify customers when we become aware of a material delay and provide an updated estimated timeframe.

A delay does not remove any cancellation or refund right that cannot legally be excluded.

6. Backorders and Supplier Delays

Occasionally, a product may become backordered or unavailable after an order is placed.

If this happens, we may:

  • Provide an updated estimated delivery timeframe;
  • Offer an available alternative with the customer’s approval;
  • Arrange a partial delivery where practical; or
  • Explain any cancellation or refund options available based on the order’s status and applicable law.

We will not knowingly substitute a different product without the customer’s agreement.

7. Delivery Service

All orders are delivered by independent third-party delivery or freight companies. Standard delivery is curbside or to the outside of the customer’s door, or the first dry, accessible area at the delivery address, unless other service has been arranged and confirmed before delivery.

Room-of-choice delivery, unpacking, assembly, installation, packaging removal, mattress removal and moving existing furniture are not included unless expressly confirmed on the order confirmation.

When an order is delivered curbside or outside the door, the customer is responsible for the products once the carrier has left them at the delivery address, including protecting them from weather and theft. Please arrange for someone to be available to bring the products inside promptly. This does not affect claims for damage that occurred before delivery, or any rights that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Carrier Scheduling and Tracking

The carrier may contact the customer directly to schedule or confirm delivery. Tracking information will be provided when tracking is available. Furniture freight may receive fewer tracking updates than standard parcel shipments, and tracking may not become active immediately after carrier pickup.

9. Delivery Appointments

Where an appointment is required, an adult must be available to accept the order during the scheduled delivery window.

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing an accurate address and telephone number;
  • Responding to reasonable delivery-scheduling attempts;
  • Ensuring safe and unobstructed access;
  • Arranging elevator access or building permission where required; and
  • Ensuring someone authorized is available to receive the order.

Delivery windows are estimates. Traffic, weather, earlier deliveries and other circumstances may affect arrival time.

10. Missed or Unsuccessful Deliveries

Additional storage, redelivery or carrier charges may apply when delivery cannot be completed because:

  • Nobody authorized is available;
  • The customer cannot be reached;
  • An incorrect or incomplete address was provided;
  • Building or elevator access was not arranged;
  • The premises are unsafe or inaccessible;
  • The product cannot fit through the available access points; or
  • The customer refuses an otherwise correct and undamaged order without an approved reason.

Applicable charges will be explained before another delivery is arranged.

11. Measurements and Access

Customers are responsible for measuring all:

  • Doorways;
  • Hallways;
  • Staircases;
  • Elevators;
  • Entrances;
  • Ceiling clearances; and
  • Intended product locations.

Please compare these measurements with the product dimensions before ordering.

Decor Furniture & Mattress is not responsible when a product cannot be delivered because of insufficient access, building restrictions or incorrect customer measurements.

If a product cannot fit, return transportation, redelivery and restocking charges may apply in accordance with our Returns, Cancellations and Warranty Policy.

12. Address Changes

Customers must provide a complete and accurate delivery address when placing an order.

Please contact us immediately if an address needs to be changed. Once an order has been processed, transferred or collected by a carrier, an address change may cause delays or additional carrier charges.

No additional charge will be applied without disclosure.

13. Partial Deliveries

Products within the same order may become available at different times.

Where practical, we may offer to deliver available products separately. Any additional delivery charge will be disclosed and approved before a separate delivery is arranged.

Customers may choose to wait until the complete order is available when reasonably possible.

14. Inspecting the Delivery

Customers should inspect the packaging and products as soon as reasonably possible.

If visible damage is noticed:

  • Photograph the packaging before opening or discarding it;
  • Photograph the affected product and product label;
  • Note visible freight damage on the carrier’s delivery record when possible; and
  • Contact Decor Furniture & Mattress promptly.

Please report visible damage, missing pieces or incorrect products within 48 hours whenever possible. Prompt reporting allows us to document the issue with the carrier or supplier.

The preferred 48-hour reporting period does not eliminate applicable rights relating to concealed damage, manufacturing defects or remedies required by law.

Customers should keep the product and packaging until we provide instructions.

If Decor Furniture delivered the wrong item, or an item is confirmed to have arrived damaged or defective, Decor Furniture will cover the reasonable transportation costs associated with the approved remedy, as explained in our Returns, Cancellations and Warranty Policy.

15. Refused Deliveries

Customers should not refuse delivery solely because the packaging has minor cosmetic damage when the product can be safely inspected.

If a shipment appears materially damaged, incorrect or unsafe to accept, photograph the issue when possible and contact us promptly.

Refusing a correct and undamaged order may be treated as a change-of-mind return and may result in return-freight, redelivery or restocking charges.

16. Delays Outside Our Control

Severe weather, unsafe road conditions, supplier interruptions, manufacturing delays, carrier disruptions, labour interruptions and other events outside our reasonable control may delay delivery.

We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material delays and help identify the available next steps.

Nothing in this section limits any cancellation, refund or other remedy required by applicable law.

17. Returns and Cancellations

Shipping and delivery terms are separate from our return and cancellation requirements.

Please review our Returns, Cancellations and Warranty Policy for:

  • Order cancellations;
  • Change-of-mind returns;
  • Restocking fees;
  • Mattress and bedding restrictions;
  • Return transportation;
  • Damage and defect claims; and
  • Manufacturer warranty assistance.
